People that don’t have an irrigations system are amazed at how much time it saves them and how much better it makes your lawn look. When you water manually you will inevitably water too long and sometimes forget that you have the sprinkler on. In addition to saving you time, an irrigation system can save you money by making sure you don’t water too much and extending the life of your landscaping. Also, by putting in a separate water meter for your irrigation system, you can avoid having to pay those high sewer fees that run about twice what your pay for your water. Having an irrigation system can be a great water conservation tool. A poor watering schedule can lead to poor plant growth or dead and dying plant material. An irrigation system set to a timer can be a huge savings through the conservation of water as your plants, shrubbery, trees, and lawn can be timed to get the correct amount of water needed. An irrigation system can be set to water your landscape in the early morning hours when more water will be absorbed by your landscape rather than just evaporated into the air and also help prevent diseases in your lawn from having water on your grass leaves for too long.
If you already have an Irrigation system, let The Green Team make sure your irrigation system is still working properly. Irrigation heads/gears wear out and develop leaks; we can replace these heads to insure your system is working properly. We have also found that over the years plants often grow larger and prevent irrigation heads from watering efficiently to the desired area. We can either re-locate these heads or sometimes raise them. We can also make sure your irrigation heads still have the proper watering pattern.
The Green Team can provide all of your irrigation system maintenance and repair needs. For preventative maintenance and in order to prevent pipe or parts damage due to freezing temperatures, we recommend that you winterize your irrigation system. This consists of draining the water out of the pipes and turning the system off until Spring. In the Spring, the system will need to be turned back on and service to assure efficient watering.
Erosion and Drainage Control
If you have areas where water stands or where the ground is always wet, call on us to work with you to improve your situation. We can install drain boxes and French drains that can help eliminate your problem. We can also plant trees or plants that absorb a lot of water that may help your situation.
If water runoff and/or erosion are your problem we may be able to change the flow of the water to solve your problem. You may need a ditch, drain box, creek bed, and retaining wall or French drain. Adding plants and sod can also help your erosion problem. With our creativity we can not only help eliminate your problem but make your landscaping look better and utilize the water at the same time.
